  • Today one of our stops was a real estate photography shoot in Spring Grove, PA in York County. We also captured a few aerial views of the local scenery. The anchor of this town has always been the iconic Papermill, formerly known as the Glatfelter Plant, which had recently been sold. Since 1865 the paper mill had helped to create a growing economy in this part of York County. We also captured a view of Lake Pahagaco which was once used to supply water to the Glatfelter Plant. In the other photos are a combine collecting corn from a local farm and a neat aerial view of the mulch processing center for H&H General Excavating Co.

  • More nature snapshots. May or may not have placed/moved a leaf or two so maybe they're more like still life.

  • This is ridiculous! Historically, there have been beliefs that sexual orientation can change. In present day, some people still believe this can happen. This belief often affects the LGBT community sometimes in dramatic and potentially harmful ways. It is an attempt to convert the individuals in the LGBT community into heterosexual norms & roles. This leads us into the therapeutic approach of Conversion Therapy. What is Conversion Therapy? Conversion or reparative therapy, is the pseudoscientific practice of trying to change an individual’s sexual orientation by using psychological or spiritual interventions. The therapy techniques can include methods such as talk therapy, prayer, re-education, hypnosis, or aversion therapy techniques. Aversion therapy techniques can be dangerous. As late as the 70s, aversion therapy techniques used electroshock, vomit-inducing chemical compounds or rubber band wrist snapping when a person demonstrates a same gender attraction. Where did this originate? During the 1900s, psychoanalyst assumed homosexuality/lesbianism was pathological and attempts to treat it were appropriate. Some patients and/or their parents sought conversion therapy because they wanted acceptance by the larger society, which was deemed heterosexuality. In extreme cases, the therapeutic approach used extreme measures such as institutionalization, lobotomies, castration, and more. During the 20th century, many psychotherapist theorized & provided treatment to individuals identified in the LGBT community. Some of these individuals included, Abraham Brill, Wilhelm Stekel, and Edmund Bergler. The practice was, and continues to be widely controversial and disapproved by a number of organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Association of Social Workers, and the American Counseling Association. In the United States, conversion therapy is banned in 18 states, 2 territories, & some local counties have passed laws on practicing conversional therapy on minors. 31 states do not have a state law of policy banning conversion therapy for minors. #lgbtqa #gaystraightalliance #fayettecounty #pennsylvania
