Well you guys it sure is starting to set in that we are are HOMEOWNERS. We had a townhouse where they took care of everything!! Now we have to make sure we are keeping the lawn cut, bugs out still while trying to move in. Tre has been working nonstop this past month and we have to literally move our things at night because this guy works everyday. #baegoals But the best thing about it all is how it’s all coming together and how we are finally getting ready to get settled in. It may be another week until we have fully transitioned to our home but it’s been one heck of a ride getting to this point. As well as being #25weekspregnant has made me halt hauling things around so I’m leaning to be patient in this process and not be so uptight even though it’s tough feeling displaced temporally. Absolutely chuffed to announce that Adam and I have bought our first home together 🎉 I’ve been saving every cent I could since I was 17 for a home and I finally made it! It’s a lovely 3 bedroom home with a great garage for the “man of the house” 😆 We fell in love with the home straight away, made an offer swiftly and it was accepted 2 days later. We get the keys in just under 6 weeks 😁 Sorry for being so quiet lately...now you know why! I hope you all stay tuned for some new content on my page. There will be plenty of focus on my continuing minimalism journey, organisation and house styling to come. I’ll still be shining my sink too - it’s brand new 😍✨Hard work and consistent saving pays off 💗 Happy days!

#AD It feels like a million years ago that Alex and I bought this house and moved in. It’s been such a whirlwind, from the buying process, to moving back to Cornwall from Brighton and of course, all the renovations! New figures from @skiptonbuildingsociety show over half of prospective first time buyers are uncomfortable with the homebuying fundamentals around surveying and legal aspects, and a third are confused by the homebuying process and don't know where to start. It can feel really difficult to get onto the property ladder these days, but there are ways to get there, such as going on a budget, putting money in savings each month and looking in new locations. When we first started looking we quickly realised Brighton was too pricey for what we wanted, and that’s why we looked to the South West! Similarly, we went on a budget and put that money aside towards buying our first home together. There are so many elements to buying a house that we didn’t understand or expect, and we have learnt so much along the way. Oh my gosh! I can’t believe we are finally at this point. This weekend we cleared out all of our downstairs and prepped to install our Luxury Vinyl Flooring from @homedepot. I searched forever and couldn’t find the color I was looking for, but than I found the perfect LVP at Home Depot. It’s so great because it looks like real wood, but doesn’t have the downfall of hardwood flooring 🙊 I can’t wait to see the finished product. Stay tuned!

Been focusing on the living room. Swipe to see the before. Ceilings were scraped before we moved in. 🙌 We had recessed lighting installed and spent the weekend painting all of the walls. Still need to paint the shutters and hide some cords, but it’s certainly starting to feel like home. 🏡 ☺️

9 Tips That Make a #Property Ideal for an #ADU (Accessory #Dwelling Unit) #🏡, to make some extra 💰 as an #AirbnbHost , and/or pay your #Mortgage off while living at Home:
♦️1) Detached #Garage - This tends be the least expensive option. They make a great one bedroom, or #StudioApartment .
♦️2) Alley Access - It maintains the privacy of both the #Homeowners living in the primary dwelling, and the #Renters / #Airbnb guests staying in the ADU.
♦️3) Lot Size - The floor area for an ADU should not exceed 500 sq.ft. for lots between 5,000 and 7,500 sq.ft. If a lot exceeds 7,500 sq.ft., the accessory unit may be up to 640 sq.ft. and for lots in excess of 10,000 sq.ft., a unit may be up to 800 sq.ft.

Often times people want their first home to be "amazing" but they don't have "amazing" money yet, some still foolishly go on to buy houses that are out of their means and often end up stressing so much over paying the high mortgage and end up going into foreclosure...we found what we could afford on our salary and knew we could grow from there.
