Several low-lying areas in Pune suffered massive damage due to heavy rains in Pune yesterday. Many animals also lost their lives due to a wall collapse of Katraj Canal. According to Skymet’s AWS data, the city has recorded heavy showers to the tune of 90 mm in a span of just 21 hours and will continue to receive heavy showers in next 48 hours. This is the heaviest spell of rain in Pune for the month of September during this Monsoon season. The rains have not only caused chaos, but also claimed around 11 lives. Pune University has declared a holiday to all its affiliated schools and colleges today.
I finally caught it. After narrowly dodging the dreaded flu as it felled people around me, left, right and centre...it caught up with me at last.
And I'm battling it bravely but with the weather the way it is, and the city flooding like mad (my backyard too, again) and pandal music & firecrackers making it impossible to focus, maybe it's better to just give in and get some rest?
Bye for now, I'm going to turn in early and hit the bottle. This bottle to be precise. ☝️ I've given myself permission to post the #WednesdayWisdom tips on #SocialMediaForBusiness on a Thursday instead.
Over and out.
Good night and goodbye.
Ciao for now.
Hasta la vista bebe.
On the very first day when we arrived, it rained for a few hours, causing a #flood of sorts. It's not everyday that we get to witness something like this. To the locals, this rain was really unexpected, because it wasn't picked up by the weather sensors.
We thought the locals would have been used to these types of occurrences, but we could still see many of them taking photos and videos with their cell phones.
